What Is The Best Way To Teach A Dog…..?
to go down stairs. We have some VERY steep stairs that my dog is afraid to go down. He is too big for me to carry him down. How can I help him get down the stairs withouth being scared.

Walk him down them on a leash. Put a treat two steps away from the step he is at so he must step down to get the treat. Also praise him after everystep and when he is completely down greatly reward him.
Use treats to help your dog overcome his fears, sit on the stairs with him and take it very slowly.

Are the stairs carpet? If no, then that could be your problem. If yes then in order for him to walk down the stairs you must first entice him, or calmly walk him down. This is a learned behavior so getting him to change is possible, only it can be strenuous.
