Our Four Dogs Can’t Do Stairs. Any Mode Of Transportation That You Can Think Of?
All four dogs together weigh less than 20 pounds but I have to do tow trips to carry them out to potty and so on. Anyone got an idea about getting them down in one trip every time?

dHave you tried placing a smooth board down one side of the stairs so the dogs can just walk up and down by themselves? It should be just wide enough to accommodate the largest dog. Place a small lathing piece across the board about every 9 inches or so. Even the smallest chihuahua can get up and down the steps this way.
Just be sure everything is sanded smooth to prevent splinters. This is of course if you are not In a an apartment building. But you can also buy an infant carrier an sew up the openings for the legs. Place two dogs in that and wear it in the front so they can see you. Carry the other two in your arms.
do they have a leg problem or are they afraid of stairs? Most dogs are physically capable of going up and down stairs if you let them. If they are afraid just coax them down with a favorite treat and praise if you can get one to do it the rest should follow because they want the attention and treats also. Then you should get them going up and down them in no time at all. But if they just cant go down the stairs then get a large bag and carry them all down or get some big wagon thing and roll them carefully down the stairs. Or just get a big plastic tarp and set them down on it and pull them down the stairs gently. Good luck…Or try and move down to the ground level of the apartment or just dont let them get up stairs period ( if u live in a house) good luck bye
What type of dogs are these?
If size is the issue, get some doggie carriers/backpacks or something of that sort.
If they are able to hop up and down the steps, then you can actually train them to do the stairs on leash with patience and consistancy. I had to train a rescued racing greyhound how to do stairs, so it can be done!http://www.libertydogtraining.com
If it’s your own home, spray glue indoor/outdoor carpeting (so they won’t slip) onto lightweight plywood (cut to any width and length it takes) and install alongside of the stairs, like a handicap ramp so to speak and let them walk down themselves. An apartment rental…no clue!
There legs are to short for the wide stairs?
If u live in an apartment then u should think about moven downstairs cause then it will be easier instead of carrien a big dog carrier all the way down the stair and then when there done getting them back in.
I trained my teacup to go down stair that are hard for me to climb also try a ramp like a handicapped one
are you talking about taking them down several flights of stairs to get outside your apt bldg? you could just get a large pet carrier & put them all in. or even a picnic basket would work.
