Dog Repetitive Behaviour?

In the mornings, nearly every single morning my dog gets up and stays down stairs till my mum goes out. When she is going out the door he barks like mad until she is gone a few seconds. This is around the time i’m getting up for a shower. As i do he runs into my room and lies on my bed. When im out and go downstairs he will go downstairs but my leaving the house doesnt bother him. He rarely barks if i leave. He barks the same when people come in but not at me. Why is this?

This sounds like my dog. Is it a border collie.
Just a stab in the dark,other members of your family could make a big fuss when leaving,and maybe you don’t(not suggesting that’s wrong).So maybe your dog has some sort of separation anxiety with your mum but not with you because of that?

Perhaps he’s telling others, “Good-by & good ridence / get out!” (?)
Maybe he views you has dominate so he doesn’t worry about you leaving. Your mother may not be as dominate so he gets upset when she leaves.
