Fall Cause Internal Bleeding?
My dog had a 2lb tumor removed a few days ago and he had his bandage removed yesterday, just a few minutes ago he fell flat on his stomach were the wound is and there was a little blood but it was a tad more liquid then thick blood. I’m worried there might be some internal stuff though, I mean he fell coming up the ramp outside pretty hard…

Take him to the vet to find out for sure.. IF he is bleeding internally.. He’ll die if you don’t take care of it.
It could be possible since the surgery was so recent. Hopefully it was just blood from the skin at the incision site.
I would definitely have him checked at the vet tomorrow. That is quite a large tumor and you want to make sure that the fall didn’t dislodge any internal clots that were forming and helping him heal.
Better safe than sorry.
Addition:
Initial signs would be:
- The pet is pale (check the gums or eyelids).
-The pet is cool on the legs, ears, or tail.
-The pet is extremely excited or unusually subdued.
- Other sigsn can be not eating and lethargy.
Also keep an eye on the surgery area. Look for pockets of fluid under the skin. It will feel like a water balloon that isn’t completely full and a little squishy.
Even if it may not be your normal vet, I’d take him to a vet.
Call a vet or a clinic and ask if you can bring him in now. Maybe it is just a little bit of the blood from getting a tumor removed. Just in case call a vet and ask what they think. if you can take him in tonight and they don’t know what happened then take him. please email me to let me know if he is ok at shonfawn@yahoo.com. good luck!
Dogs are tough, but since he is at quite a disadvantage at the moment, it is very possible. Look for the signs and contact your vet please.
Take him to the dog ER or just hope he’s allright.
VET!!!! NOW!!!!
and don’t let your dog jump or run.
