My Dog Hit His Head Hard On The Stairs.?
My dog had taken a stuffed animal and was running around with it. As he was running up the staris he slipped and hit his head hard on the steps. He dropped the animal and went on the couch to lye down. He seems normals, is drinking water, eating, but his head is a little warm and he’s a little quiter. Should I take him to the vet

Dogs are like people. They can take some hard bumps, but as you noticed, he is resting as we would have. His head may hurt, and he may be a bit dizzy. Just watch him and if he starts vomiting he may have a concussion. You could call your Vet if that happens and see what he has to say.
Mine did the same thing the other day. Watch for tilt of head/vomiting/appetite for head injury. Is he walking correctly. Check his gums make sure they are pink, if not there could be some internal damage.
RUB IT
Glad to see you have a sense of humor. It is normal if the skin has been bumped to be a bit warm. If he is acting normal then he probably is. You can look into his eyes and see if his pupils are the same , by this I mean not one pupil bigger than the other. If the are not equal then yes your dog should be seen by a vet ASAP! This would indicate an concussion! ok
Can you say headache? I think that could be what he has.
I would call my vet. Most vets will consult on the phone if you are a regular customer.
He could have a concussion. Keep an eye on him and watch him through the night. Wake him up about once an hour to make sure he’s okay. Meantime, give him lots of love and attention. Snuggle with him and comfort him. Do all the things you’d want someone to do if you had a bad headache.
gently feel it everywhere if he twitches or shows discomfort in one of the places take him to the vet immediately if not wait a day or two and then go you should always be careful
if he is eating and drinking fine i would just watch him if he was my dog. but if your worried call the vet. i cant tell you what you should do only what i would do. and i would watch him
you do not need to but it is up to you.I would give him a few treats and start rubing it.
Ps you might want to put ice.
Good luck

If you’re very worried take him to the vet, but my guess is he’ll be fine.
